This conference, sponsored by the New York Citywide CTE Advisory Council, the United Federation of Teachers, and the NYC Department of Education, with support from the CTE Technical Assistance Center of New York State, the American Federation of Teachers, the Albert Shanker Institute, and the Association for Career and Technical Education. was a special addition to the annual professional development day for New York City CTE teachers. It brought together representatives of the Obama administration, union leaders, and national level CTE advocates as part of a campaign to support the development of a growing CTE coalition that is advocating for increased support for high quality CTE. It included breakout workshops on a variety of key technical and policy issues and a panel discussion that offered participants ample opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences as CTE practitioners.
This report presents measures of the effort, adequacy, and fairness of each state's school finance system, using a new public database compiled by researchers at ASI and Rutgers Graduate School of Education.
