Join us at the AFT for a conversation, lunch and book signing with Kent Wong, the director of the UCLA Center for Labor Research and Education. Wong will discuss the center’s latest book, Dreams Deported: Immigrant Youth and Families Resist Deportation, featuring stories of deportation and the courageous immigrant youth and families who have led the national campaign against deportations and successfully challenged the president of the United States to act.

His is the UCLA Labor Center’s third book in its series on immigration and the immigrant youth movement. The first book, Underground Undergrads: UCLA Undocumented Immigrant Students Speak Out, was the first in the country written by and about undocumented immigrant youth. The second book, Undocumented and Unafraid: Tam Tran, Cinthya Felix, and the Immigrant Youth Movement, captures the voices of a new generation that is coming out of the shadows, making history and changing our country.

All three books will be available for purchase (cash or check only) and signing at the event. Each book is $10, or all three can be purchased for $25.
