PAWEŁ ZYZAK

author of

"DOMINO EFFECT:

Did the U.S. Overthrow Communism in Poland?"

This new book by Paweł Zyzak, just published in Poland, examines US-Polish relations in the decade of the 1980s after the founding of Solidarnosc and leading to its victory over communist rule in Poland in 1989. The result of six years of research on two continents, Zyzak’s book examines the complex interplay of Cold War politics, business interests, and American labor in influencing the situation in Poland — and especially the central role and impact of the AFL-CIO, other American trade unions and their allies in supporting the Solidarity movement.
