This webinar demystifies what high-quality after-school time programming looks like, empowers caregivers to advocate for access, and promotes accountability across after-school programs.
Motivated by firsthand experience working in after-school settings, Jordan Beal conducted a literature review identifying four overarching tenets of high-quality programming: a whole child based design, student engagement, high-quality staff, and strong administration. Recognizing that families and practitioners often lack clear tools to assess program quality, Jordan then developed a guidebook grounded in California’s Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) to help caregivers make informed decisions on what programs they send their children to and provide practitioners with evaluation tools to strengthen their programs.
